MRCW’s signature work, a balancing of skilled craftsmanship with industrial materials and techniques -often likened to a fusion of Nakashima and Prouve- are one-of-a-kind heirloom pieces of bold elegance.  Every project, small or large, is an organic back and forth process of design informing construction informing design, in order to allow for that critical element of spontaneity and wonder to manifest itself.

MRCW is a design/build studio with a 3,500 sq. ft., full-scale woodshop and a several thousand board foot inventory of carefully selected, custom milled lumber for architectural and furniture projects.  Combining the multi-disciplinary talents of designer Monica Reskala and master builder Christopher Weiss, a husband and wife team, MRCW brings together years of experience in residential and commercial commissions.  With almost 20 years of working with Japanese hand tools mastering the art of Japanese timber frame construction and joinery, Chris’s knowledge of wood and construction are evident in the quality of craftsmanship brought to each and every project.
