Cerno was founded in 2008 by an architect, engineer and business analyst who share a passion for design.  Cerno believes that conflict exists between art and science; they acknowledge this conflict, embrace it, and seek to resolve it in every project they work on. Cerno designers utilize state-of-the-art technology to liberate the design and building process, yielding one-of-a-kind objects whose aesthetic content and form finds alignment with function and structure.

Cerno’s philosophy, creativity and strength derive from each principal bringing a different perspective and set of skills to the table. After the three childhood friends graduated from Laguna Beach High School together, Daniel Wacholder, Nick Sheridan and Bret Englander chose to pursue different academic and professional paths. Now after several years of independently practicing their different disciplines the 3 friends have reunited to form an industrial design firm that is focusing their attention on designing a new line of innovative lighting and furniture products.
