BRENDAN RAVENHILL

Childhood years in Cote’d'Voire helping his dad with carpentry along with summers in coastal Maine have bestowed designer Brendan Ravenhill a love for the functional beauty of working tools and wooden boats. After graduating from Oberlin College with a degree in sculpture in 2001, Ravenhill continued to develop his craft through a series of projects which include the construction of a timber frame barn and eight boats. After spending a year as an apprentice welder, he attended the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 2009 with a Masters in Industrial Design. Ravenhill finds his inspiration in the functional beauty of working tools: objects that strike the perfect balance between form and function, and that develop a patina through use and wear. When not designing objects and buildings, Ravenhill can usually be found building or playing in boats. Designs by Ravenhill can be purchased by contacting agentsĀ Ford&Ching
